英语没有四级可以做外贸业务员吗?

- Main concern is your skills, if you don't have skills you can't sell anything. If you have skills you can practice English during job. And just in six months you will be fluent in English.
- Sales are all about communication skills and product knowledge. If you can communicate and know enough about your product no need for any certificates. Same way, if you have an English level 4 certificate but you can't communicate or know nothing about your product. That is a problem, no English degree or certificate can help you.

- I beg to differ. First of all, when you say "English has (a) little role in international trade", you are actually saying "English has a marginal, insignificant role in international trade". I am not sure if that's what you actually mean? To me this is obviously erroneous. To sell a product is to communicate to a client the reasons why he or she should accept your service and buy from you. The fact of selling itself is communication. When you can't even communicate properly because of a poor command of spoken or written English, one can't reasonably expect them to pay for it. I know what foreigners need when they come to China. Sometimes have their specific needs that they would like local manufacturers to pay attention to, in order to abide by the regulatory standards of their local governments so the imported goods do not trip any any alarm or infringe any laws. Selling can be made simple when you know what to talk about and how to talk. Conversely, when they couldn't parse your sclerotic English, when you have a hard time expressing yourself, or when your clients don't feel reassured you understand their needs at all, they will just go find somebody else. Selling skills are in essence communication skills. Product presentation can hardly be done right when the language skills aren't there in the first place. Indeed, not all customers/clients are good at English. To me being a good sales personnel is like being a virtuous, loving human being: you make sure you hold up on your end of the communication with high degree of fluency and flair, and it matters not if the other end holds up the same way. When they couldn't hold a conversation properly, that's the perfect time for you to demonstrate your considerableness and magnanimity. You shall strive to accommodate the best you could manage when they don't speak well, and remain perfectly humble, and eager to assist. The impression that your character and aptitudes leave behind is sometimes as important to deal making as communication skills.
